Obituary
Mrs. Iola "Tiny" J. Boden, 99, of Burlington, Iowa, entered into her eternal rest at 1:45 a.m. on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, at Ozark Mountain Regional Healthcare Center in Crane, Missouri. Deanna Bolen and her husband Roy were with her offering their comfort as she slipped into the waiting arms of Jesus. Born July 23, 1912, she was the daughter of Calises Edward and Lulu Ella May Morris Sapp. She married Charles Fred Boden, who preceded her in death on May 31, 1982. Mrs. Boden was a real estate agent for Century 21, as well as owner of Tiny's Café and Glamour Coil Beauty Shop. She was an avid bowler until her early 90's, and was easily recognized wearing her pink bowling outfit, using her matching pink bowling ball. She supported several bowling teams, wanting everyone to join in the fun. The way she expressed her love was through serving others and sharing generously. She was not a talker, but a doer. She did what Jesus told us to do in deeds...to the least of these. Not a condemning word, only blessing. She was not one to try to impress. Just tell the truth. She had an advice column in the Hawkeye weekly. Her beauty was deep inside but she happened to be beautiful on the outside as well. She was faithful to her family always and gave her parents great respect, especially her mother. The family wishes to thank the staff at Parkview Nursing Home where she was loved and cared by many, especially Kelly Parker, the staff at Ozark Mountain Regional Healthcare Center, as well as the hospice care givers and chaplain. Survivors include her nephews and nieces: Harry Alexander (Ottumwa, Iowa), Candyce Marie Jackson (De Queen, Arkansas), Deanna Bolen (Clever, Missouri), Esther Nickens (Highland Springs, Virginia), Cheryl Bendickson (Burlington, Iowa), Les Sapp (Anchorage, Alaska), great nieces and nephews, as well as great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers, and four sisters. An open visitation will be at the Lunning Funeral Chapel from noon to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, August 3rd, for her friends who wish to honor her memory. Inurnment will be at a later date in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
