William "Sonny" C. Wigginton Jr., 77, of West Burlington, died 9:35 p.m. Friday, September 21, 2013 at Great River Medical Center.
Born on July 4, 1936 in Owensboro, Kentucky, he was the son of William Claude Sr. and Virginia Helen Jackson Wigginton. He married Maxine Kessel on July 10, 1972 in Illinois.
Sonny was a truck driver for Modern Welding for over 60 years. He enjoyed going fishing, gambling and going to casinos, bowling, playing cards, darts and pool. He loved watching NASCAR and westerns, working on cars, listening to country music, mushroom hunting and being outdoors.
He is survived by his wife Maxine Wigginton of West Burlington; four children; Richard (Debbie) Wigginton of Goshen, IN, Donna (Troy) Banks of Tuttle, OK, Michael (Vickie) Wigginton of Decatur, IL and LeAnn (Joel) Dickenson of Blanchard, OK; three step-children; Karen (Brad) Wiggins of Mt. Pleasant, Chris (Pam) Crable of West Burlington and Jerry (Jacque) Crable of Burlington; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; one brother, Jesse (Glenda) Wigginton of Fort Smith, AR and one sister, Doris (Charles) Meece of Richland City, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial has been established for St. Jude Children's Hospital.
