Paul Wayne Wiemer, 76, of Burlington, died Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2004, at Genesis East Hospital In Davenport. Born June 27, 1928, in Burlington, he was the son of Louis Henry and Frieda Thye Wiemer. On July 18, 1954, he married Ellen joyce Rutledge in Charles City. Mr. Wiemer worked for J.I. Case Co. for 15 years and was a self-employed farmer. He was of the Lutheran faith. He was a Korean War Army veteran. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited, Eagles, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Pheasants Forever and the Foundation for North American Wild Sheep. Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Time Renee Runnells of Burlington; three grandchildren; two sisters, Anna Lee Dehner of Burlington and Shirley Lou Olson of Spirit Lake; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter and one sister. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Prugh's Chapel. The funeral for Mr. Wiemer will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Prugh's Chapel, with the Rev. Carl Engstrom officiating. Burial with military rites conducted by VFW Posts 10102 and 9162, American Legion Post 52, the Hamilton-Walters Marine Corps League and AMVETS Post 29 will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established for Foundation for North American Wild Sheep.
