Marion Franklin Adams, 78, of 715 N. Main street died at 3:20 p.m. Monday in St Francis hospital after being in failing health for a year.
He had worked for many years as a sawyer in a lumber mill until retiring several years ago. Adams was born Sept 15, 1871, in Henry county, the son of John W. and Catherine Roberts Adams, and was married to the former Clara Bell Van Winkle Dec. 21, 1898.
Surviving is the widow, 3 sons, John W. Adams, Burlington; Lewis V. and Finis O. Adams, both of Omaha, Neb; 2 sisters, Mrs. A.L. Swander, Iron Ridge, Wis; and Mrs. W.C. Young, Dallas, Tex; 14 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. A daughter, 2 brothers and a sister are dead.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Prugh's chapel. Burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery.
