Obituary
The death of Mrs. Maria F. Adams removes a beloved and honored member of society from the circles she had long adorned. A resident of Burlington for thirty-seven years and faithful and true in every relation of life, her own home and the homes of her children, were made bright and happy by the perpetual sunshine of her devotion and love. A model of industry, discretion, and patience, she carried sweetness and light into every sphere. Quiet and unassuming in manners, her sterling virtues and the fine balance of substantial qualities in her character made her an endeared and trusted a friend. "She opened her mouth with wisdom, and in her tongue was the law of kindness. She looked well to the ways of her household and ate not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up and call her blessed. Favor is deceitful, and beauty is vain; but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her own works praise her in the gates.
Mrs. Adam's funeral will take place from the residence of Hon A.G. Adams, corner of Fifth and Arch streets, on Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Friends of the family without further notice are respectfully invited to attend.
