Lafayette B. Adams, of 1813 Des Moines avenue, passed away at Mercy hospital at 5;30 o'clock Monday morning, a victim of dropsy. He was born in Kentucky, May 27, 1855, and had been a resident of Burlington some forty years. Of late he had been an expressman, faithful and reliable in every sense of the word. He is survived by the widow; a son, Lafayette Adams; a daughter, Mrs. Clarence Ruppert; a sister, Mrs. Nelson Bass, of Davenport; two brothers, J. C. Adams, of Burlington, W. Va., and Eli Adams, of Dean, Idaho and four grandchildren.
