John Franklin Blythe, 52, of 108 Green Briar Drive, died at 2:56 pm Wednesday, Aug. 20, at his home.
Born Feb. 28, 1934, at LaHarpe, Ill., he was the son of John and Della Mae Harmon Blythe. He married Barbara, L. Hein Jan 1, 1955, at Lone Elm, Mo.
He served in the Army and was of the Lutheran faith. He was a correctional officer at the state pen for 10 years.
Surviving are his wife; one son, Trent, Coon Rapids, Minn.; two sisters, Betty Roth, Macomb, Ill., and Mae Dell Tate, Dallas City, Ill.; and two grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 pm Thursday at Lunning chapel.
Services for Mr. Blythe will be 10:30 am Friday at Lunning chapel with the Rev. Royce Rinehart officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
