Lola White, 97, of Burlington, died at 6:05 p.m. Monday, May 24, 2010, at her home. Born November 24,1912, in Goodrich, Ark., she was the daughter of Victor and Placelia Pruitt Rankin. On August 20, 1983, she married Clyde White in Burlington. He died March 7, 1991. Mrs. White worked 40 years as a sales clerk at J.S. Schramm Department Store in Burlington. She was a member of Union Baptist Church in Burlington, where she was president of the Mothers' Board, sang in the choir, worked with the Red Circle Girls, was a trustee, and served on the Board of Directors. Survivors include three grandchildren, Mark K. Tabron of Burlington, John R. Tabron of San Diego, and Jason C. Tabron of Cedar Rapids; 15 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, one son, her parents, and four sisters. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, at Prugh's Chapel in Burlington. The funeral for Mrs. White will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 2, at Union Baptist Church in Burlington, with Mark K. Tabron officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington. A memorial has been established for Union Baptist Church.
