Robert E. Bloomer, 92, of Hot Springs, Ark., died Wednesday, December 3, 2008, at a local hospital. Born October 28, 1916, in Burlington, he was the son of Harry and Ella Gough Bloomer. Mr. Bloomer was a retired contractor. He was a member of Grand Avenue United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Verona Bellew Bloomer; two sons, Robert Bloomer of Columbus, Ohio, and Brian Bloomer of Sandwich, IL; one daughter, Janeen Woodyard of Burlington; six grandchilden; eight great-grandchildren; and one brother, Allen Bloomer of Hot Springs. He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, and one great-granddaughter. A memorial service for Mr. Bloomer will be at a later date in Burlington. Caruth-Hale Funeral Home in Hot Springs is in charge of arrangements.
