Kenneth A. Bloomer, 87, of Burlington, died at 1:25 pm Tuesday, Jan. 14, 1997, at Burlington Medical Center.
Born July 7, 1909, in Burlington, he was the son of John W. and Anna Traman Bloomer. On July 11, 1936, he married Charlotte Buck in Burlington. She died March 6, 1985. He then married K. Dorinne Mills on March 14, 1986, in Burlington.
Mr. Bloomer retired from Lagomarcino’s of Burlington after 28 years. He retired from J.I. Case Co. in Burlington after 10 years.
He was a lifetime member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Burlington, Eagles Erie 150, United Auto Workers Local 807 and Teamsters Local 238. He attended Civilian Conservation Corps Camp in Arkansas and Minnesota.
Survivors include his wife, K. Dorinne Bloomer of Burlington; two sons, Jerry L. Bloomer of Hot Springs, SD, and Robert W. Bloomer of Burlington; three daughters, Joyce Cooperman of Davenport, Rosemary Johnson of Columbia, SC, and Susan Tyner of Peoria, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his first wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
The family will receive friends from 7 or 8:30 pm Friday at Prugh’s Chapel. The funeral for Mr. Bloomer will be at 10:30 Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church the Rev. Charles Evans officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery.
