Lawrence Elmer "Bill " Wells, 74. of 545 S. Ninth St.,died Sunday, Feb, 24. 1991, at his home. Born April 7, 1916, in Mount Pleasant, he was the son of Wells and Rose McGregor Wells,He married Katherine Crowder
jn 1947. He later married Mary Ann Ray Sept. II,1967, in Burlington. She died Sept. 17,1985, He received a Bachelor's degree from Iowa Wesleyan College, He was employed at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant before retiring. He was a member of the St. John AM Church and the V F. W. Survivtng are five daughters, Rosetta Johnson. Decatur, Ill., Loretta Wells, Des Moines, Connie Wells, Los Angeles.Calin Wells.and Diana Wells. Chapel Hills, N.C. one son, Lawrence Wells; Tucson, Ariz.; three step-daughters, Linda Christine Wells. Tina Johnson, McAllen, Texas, and Lucille Johnson, Davenport; one step-son, Nathaniel Johnson, Davenport, two sisters; Florence Dabner and Gladys Bennett, both of Mount Pleasant; one brother. Charles Wells, Minneapolis, Minn; 12 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.The family will receive
friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m.Thursday at Prugh's Chapel. The service for Mr. Wells will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Prugh's Chapel With the Rev. Cecil Fletcher officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
