Herman Lawrence Wellington, 69, 2124 S. Central, died at 11:05 p.m. Monday, Nov. 19, at Memorial hospital. He was born Aug. 14, 1904, in Henry county, the son of John and Versa Goins Wellington. He married Velva Hester on Aug. 31, 1935, in Burlington. He was an iron worker. He was a member of the Lutheran church and Iron Worker local 577. Surviving: The wife; three sons, Sgt. Donald, Fayetteville, N.C., Lloyd, Gladstone, Randy, Burlington; one daughter, Debbie, at home; two brothers, Raymond, Toledo, Ohio, Russell, Kansas, Ohio; one sister, Gertrude Sharp, New London; and eight grand-children. Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Lunning Chapel, Rev. G.A. Saathoff; Aspen Grove cemetery.
