James C. Bloomberg, 49, vice president of Hawkeye Bank & Trust died at 1:30pm Wednesday, Aug. 31, at Burlington Medical Center after a long battle with cancer.
Mr. Bloomberg, 69 Lynmar Drive, was born Oct. 10, 1933 at Burlington to Carl L and Rose Cling Bloomberg. He was a graduate of Augustana College, Rock Island, Ill.; and a former chaplain’s assistant in the Army during the Korean War.
He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church where he sang for many years in the choir. He also was a member of the Chamber of Commerce where he served with the Burlington Captains and on the agriculture committee; the Kiwanis, Elks Lodge 84, Eagles Aerie 150.
Surviving: Mother, Mediapolis; daughter, Susan Bloomberg, Iowa City; son, David Bloomberg, Burlington; sister, Mrs. Joyce Brackman, St. Louis.
Funeral: 10 am Saturday, Bethany Lutheran Church, Dr. Robert Buhr; Aspen Grove Cemetery.
