Hood E. Weld, 83, 2241 S. 10th, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, at Burlington Memorial hospital. He was born Jan. 27, 1899, in Colby, Kan., the son of Homer E. and Jennie Little Weld. He married Emma M. Steele on Sept. 16, 1914, at Richland, Iowa. He was a pharmacist for 60 years, much of that time at Clark's drug store in Burlington. He was a member of First Christian Church, Masonic Lodge AF&AM of Collins, Iowa, White Shrine, E.C. Blackmar chapter of Eastern Star, Hawkeye Natives and Senior Citizens. Surviving: The wife; one son, John, Burlington; one daughter, Mrs. Genevieve Sacre, Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Friday, Lunning chapel, Rev. John Vickers; Aspen Grove cemetery.
