Emma Minerva Weld, 87, former Burlington resident, died Tuesday, July 9, at Fourth Avenue Nursing Home, Cedar Rapids. She was born Dec. 27, 1897, at Richland, to Elmer E. and Jennie Steele. She married H. Erland Weld at Richland on Sept. 16, 1914. Her husband was a pharmacist who was employed at Walgreen's and Clark Drug Stores in Burlington. He died in 1973 and Mrs. Weld moved to Cedar Rapids. She was a homemaker, a member of the Royal Neighbors of America, the Eastern Star and the White Shrine of Burlington. Surviving: A son, John E. Weld, Burlington; a daughter, Genevieve (Billie) Sacre, Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Verda Van Fleet, Corydon. Graveside services: 11 a.m. Friday, Aspen Grove Cemetery, the Rev. David J. Seitz, pastor of First Christian Church.
