Chester Perry Welch, 82, of Burlington, died at 1:32 a.m.Sunday, Aug. 20, 2000, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.Born Aug. 1,1918, in Macon, Mo., he was the son of Perry and Katie
Featherstone Welch. On Nov. 11, 1945, he married Irene Elizabeth Boshell in Kewanee, Ill. Mr. Welch was a manager and route manager for F.W. Means and Co. for 33 years. He retired in1983.He was of the Protestant faith. He was a graduate of Macon High School. He was president of the Golden Oldies, was a member of two cam ing groups, Silver Sams and Geode-A-Bagos,Primetime, Silver Singers, NCHA, and president of Holiday and Shoquoquon Camping Clubs.Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Linda Moms of Des Moines; two sons, Michael Welch of San Jose, Calif., and Kim Welch of Keokuk; and three
grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and two brothers.Visitation will begin after 11 a.m. Tuesday at Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m.The funeral for Mr. Welch will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Lunning Chapel, with Pastor Jack Howard of West Burlington Christian Church officiating.
