Merwyn "Merv" Weinreich, 70, of Burlington, died at 3:16 PM Saturday, October 5, 2013, at his home. Born September 18, 1943, in Burlington, he was the son of David and Janice Merideth Weinreich. He married Connie Miller. Merv worked for Price Chopper. He was a graduate of Burlington High School and attended Burlington Junior College. He had a love for NASCAR and always enjoyed watching the race. Survivors include one daughter, Mindy Freeman of Kansas City, MO; one son, Matthew (Pam) Weinreich of Kansas City, MO; two grandchildren, Zach Weinreich and Amanda Weinreich; one brother, Kenneth (Judy) Weinreich of Burlington, and two nieces, Michele Willson and Shawna Weinreich. He was preceded in death by his parents. Cremation has been entrusted to Thielen Crematory. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM Saturday, October 12, 2013, at Thielen Funeral Home where the family will receive friends. The memorial service for Mr. Weinreich will be 11:00 AM Saturday, October 12, 2013, at Thielen Funeral Home with Reverend Kenneth R. Petersen officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Aspen Grove Cemetery A memorial has been established for mental illness.
