Harry E. “Pete” Bloom, 74, of 605 S. Plane, died in Burlington Medical Center at 4:50 pm Wednesday, April 4.
He was born Nov. 4, 1909, to William and Emma Benson Bloom, in Burlington, where he married Rita Ann Griesbaum on Feb. 12, 1955.
He was an Army Veteran of WWII.
Mr. Bloom was identified with Hawkeye Motor Co. for 46 years. He was prominent in bowling circles. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Masonic Lodge, and Kaaba Shrine.
Surviving: the wife, and brother Carl Bloom, Burlington.
Funeral: 10:30 am Saturday at Lunning Chapel, the Rev. Donald Hoornstra; Aspen Grove Cemetery, with military rites. Masonic service: 7 pm Friday at Lunning Chapel. Memorials have been established for Messiah Lutheran Church and the Shriners Crippled Children.
