Iola M. Weiler, 72, of 104 S. Woodlawn Ave., Burlington, died Thursday, Dec.22, 1994, at Burlington Medical Center. Born Nov. 25, 1922, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Alfred and Pearl Scovil Inghram. On Dec. 10, 1941 she married Arthur Weiler in Burlilngton. Mrs. Weiler was the secretary for the Burlington-West Burlington Chamber of Commerce for 27 years, retiring in 1989. She was a member of the First United Church of Christ, a past treasurer of the church, present consistory member of the church, co-chairwoman of the church;s 150th anniversary, and a Sunday school teacher for many years. She was a Girl Scout leader, a co-chairwoman of the Burlington High School Class of 1940 reunion, the original secretary of the Burlington Area Development Corporation (BADCO), a member of the original board of directors of Burlington Steamboat Days and a member of the Rebecca Circle of the Kinds Daughters. Survivors include her husband; one son, Mark Weiler of Burlnigton; two daughters, Susan Weiler of Davenport and Wendy Evans of Burlington; her father, Alfred Inghram of Burlington; two brothers, Earl Inghram and Robert Inghram, both of Burlington; one sister, Gwen Brayton of Lexington, N.C.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her mother and three brothers. Visitation will be from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the Sheagren Funeral Home. There will be no family visitation. The funeral for Mrs. Weiler will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the First United Church of Christ with the Rev. Pam Webb officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established for the Organ Fund at the church.
