Dorothy Marie Bloom, 95, of Wichita, Kan., formerly of Burlington, died at 6:40 pm Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2004, in Wichita.
Born Oct. 20, 1908, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Albrine and Isa Lee Gray Brissey. On April 18, 1928, she married Carl William Bloom in Burlington. He died Jan. 11, 1992.
Mrs. Bloom was a homemaker. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church and attended Central Christian Church in Wichita. She was a member of the Ladies Aid at Messiah Lutheran Church and volunteered at Burlington Medical Center for many years. She moved to Wichita to be with her daughter in May 1994.
Survivors include one daughter, Carol E. Johnson of Wichita, Kan.; two grandchildren; and one stepbrother, Charles Eccles of Tacoma, Wash.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers, one stepbrother, and one sister.
Visitation will be from noon to 8 pm Friday at Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 pm.
The funeral for Mrs. Bloom will be at 10 am Saturday at Lunning Chapel, with the Rev. Donald Hoornstra officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
