Obituary
W.F. Weibley, 76, principal architect in Burlington for many years, died Thursday in a Cleveland, O., hospital. He had been inactive in his profession several years and went to Cleveland last September to make his home with a daughter, Mrs. Louise Berrier. Weibley designed the Moose building and other large structures here in addition to many homes. He had an office in the Tama building and lived at 616 Court street many years. The veteran architect was born April 26, 1875, and was married Sept. 6, 1905, in Oskaloosa to the former Ethel M. Rankin, who died Jan. 25, 1945. Weibley, a member of First Presbyterian church the last 10 years, previously was an active member of First Methodist church. He also belonged to the Masonic fraternity. Surviving are 3 daughters, Mrs. Mildred Scott, Iowa City, Helen Weibley, Pittsburgh, Pa., and Mrs. Berrier; a brother, Edward Weibley of Cleveland; and 5 grandchildren. The body is expected to arrive Saturday afternoon in Burlington. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Burnett Wallen funeral home. Burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery. Masonic rites will be conducted at the graveside.
