Obituary
The body of a 63-year-old Burlington man was discovered in his home Saturday morning. Police said Ralph Wilbur Wedertz, 1409 Corse, apparently shot himself in the chest with a shotgun sometime Thursday. Police said Wedertz was apparently despondent over recent hospitalization and a stay in a nursing home. The body was discovered at 10:30 a.m. by Wedertz' son, Wilbur Wedertz. Police said they found the body lying beside a discharged shotgun. Medical Examiner Dr. H.N. McMurray set the time of death as Thursday and said the man died within five minutes of the time he was shot. The body is at Elliott-Lunning chapel.
