Carl William Bloom, 86, of 1308 S. 13th St., died at 1:24 am Saturday, Jan. 11, 1992, at the Wesley Hospital in Wichita, Kan.
Born July 28, 1905, in Hannibal, Mo., he was the son of William and Emma Benson Bloom. He married Dorothy Brissey April 18, 1928, in Burlington.
He was credit manager at BL Robinson, retiring in 1973 with 27 years of service. He was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church and a 50-year member of the Des Moines Masonic Lodge No. 1 AF&AM and TPA.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Carol Johnson, Wichita, Kan., and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and a sister.
Friends may call after 8 am Tuesday with the family receiving friends from 7 to 8:30 pm at Lunning Chapel.
The funeral for Mr. Bloom will be at 10:30 am Wednesday at Lunning Chapel with the Rev. Donald Hoornstra officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for the Messiah Lutheran Church.
