Marie Abbie Wedertz, 69, of Burlington, died at 5:50 p.m. Sunday, June 15, 1997, at Burlington Medical Center. Born April 17, 1928, north of Burlington, she was the daughter of Henry B. and Abbelone Hansen Thye. In October 19 1949, she married Everett R. Anderson. He preceded her in death. On May 24, 1968, she married Wilbur R. Wedertz in Burlington. He died March 13, 1995. Mrs. Wedertz was a Stanley dealer for 10 years. She was a bookkeeper at J.I. Case, worked at Benner Tea Co. and Acres Blackmar, and with her husband owned and operated Mr. Tax of America since 1977. She was a member of Harmony Bible Church in Danville, was a former member of Oak Street Baptist Church, actively served in the Bus Ministries of both churches, Women Caring Ministries and the church nursery. She was a Sunday school teacher and helped in the Awnaa Club. She was a 1946 graduate of Danville High School. Survivors include one son, Timothy A. Anderson of Burlington; one daughter, Cindy T. Streeter of Burlington; one stepson, Alan K. Wedertz of Sun Valley, Calif.; one stepdaughter, Connie S. Kern of Yarmouth; five grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Freida M. McCallum of Burlington; and one brother, Wallace Thye of Danville. Besides both of her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents, one step-grandson, five brothers and one sister. Visitation will begin after 9 a.m. Wednesday in Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. The funeral for Mrs. Wedertz will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Harmony Bible Church, with the Revs. J. Edward Davis and Rev. Leonard Schantz officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. Memorials have been established for American Cancer Society, Diabetes Association and Harmony Bible Church mission fund.
