Lester Biklen Wedertz, 86, of 1308 Madison Ave., died at 11:40 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 1, at Burlington Medical Center following a brief illness. Born at Burlington, July 14, 1890, he was the son of Charles F. and Pauline Biklen Wedertz. He married Elsie L. Kraul, June 26, 1912, at Burlington. He operated the former Crystal ice Co., was in the automotive sales service in Burlington from 1910 until 1932, worked for Dehner Cigar Store until 1950, and was a past employe of the city assessor's office. He was a 35-year veteran of the Coast Guard Auxilary, served in World war II and was a Protestant. Surviving: The wife; several nieces and nephews. Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Prugh's chapel, Rev. Dale Hempen; Aspen Grove cemetery. A memorial has been established.
