George J. Donlan, 82, Hotel Burlington, was dead on arrival at Burlington Medical Center at 9:50 a.m. Monday, Dec. 19. He retired in 1952 as district manager of Federal Barge Lines. Frm 1960-68 he was a member of the Burlington Dock board. Born here Nov. 11, 1895, he was the son of James J. and Carolyn Erbe Donlan. He married Cecilia Wedertz at Jackson ville, Fla. in 1919; she died in 1964. He was a World War I veteran serving with the Army's 82nd Infantry division. He was past commander of American Legion Post 52, life member and former trustee of First Congregational church; past president of the American Business club.Surviving: Sisters-in-law, Josephine Wedertz, Burlington, and Mrs. Tom J. Donlan, Racine, Wis. Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Prugh's chapel, Rev. Arthur H. Krebs, Aspen Grove cemetery with military rites by American Legion.
