Harley W. Webb, 48, of 917 S. 14th, was found dead in his parked auto late Thursday afternoon on a road about three miles south of Burlington. Dr. Evan A. Peterson, county medical examiner, ruled the death a suicide. Sheriff's officers said death was caused by exhaust fumes piped into Mr. Webb's parked vehicle. Mr. Webb, a carpenter, was born Aug. 30, 1919 at Higbee, Mo., the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George W. Webb, March 31, 1938, he married Sylvia Ahlstedt at Des Moines. He was a World War II Veteran and a member of the Baptist church. Surviving: The wife; four sons, Harley of New London, and Gary, Dennis and Jeffery, all of Burlington; two daughters, Mrs. Sylvia Downers, of Burlington, and Marjorie Webb, at home; three brothers, Henry of Lomax, Ill., George of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Edward of Burlington; two sisters, Mrs. Edith Johnson and Mrs. Mildred Mattoon, both of Burlington; his step-father, E.D. Whitford, of Burlington; and seven grandchildren. Services: Mnda,11 a.m. Sheagren funeral home, Aspen Grove.
