Betty Louise Schreiner Jebbia, 75, passed away at her home in La Verne, California, on Wednesday, April 3, 2013. She had lived in California with her husband, Paul, for the last 19 years.
Born on July 26, 1937, in Oakville, Iowa, she was the daughter of Charles Leon “Jack” Blodgett and Helen E. Stigge.
Most recently Betty was a homemaker. She was a retired travel agent and porcelain doll maker. Earlier in her life she was an Administrative Assistant at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Middletown, IA, and also an Office Assistant at Washington School in Burlington. She enjoyed traveling the world with her husband, and preparing a feast for family gatherings.
She is survived by her husband, Paul Jebbia of La Verne, California; five sons and four chosen daughters, James (Cynthia) Schreiner of Farmington, Illinois, Jeffrey (Heidi) Schreiner of Burlington, Iowa, Tim (Kathy) Jebbia of Arcadia, California, Lance (Gail) Jebbia of La Verne, California, and Jeff Jebbia of Southerlin, Oregon; 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are four siblings, Joanne (John) Lower, Dale (Renee) Blodgett, Linda Hingst, and Steve Blodgett; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her step-mother, Esther Blodgett.
Funeral services were held at San Gabriel Community Church for friends and family in California on April 8, 2013. Viewing will be held at Prugh’s Chapel, Burlington, Iowa, on Saturday, April 13th, from 9 am to noon, followed by a graveside service at Aspen Grove Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will follow at Big Muddy’s in Burlington.
