Robert "Pee-Wee" M. Watson, 76, of Burlington, died at 12:51 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, 2011, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington. Born March 27, 1935, in Burlington, he was the son of Marion E. "Mac" and Mary Margaret "Peggy" Roxlau Watson. On Feb. 7, 1987, he married Delores "DeeDee" Jean Shumaker in Burlington. She died Feb. 12, 2004. On May 16, 2007, he married Tammy Lynn Smith in Burlington. She died Oct. 4, 2011. Mr. Watson worked many years as a construction painter, and at Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Middletown. He graduated from Burlington High School. He served in the Air Force as a Staff Sergeant in Germany during the Korean War. He was a member of First Congregational Church and a life member of V.F.W. Survivors include one daughter, Barbara Talbort of Burlington; one grandchild; and one sister, Dolores "Dodie" E. Hampton of Bettendorf. Besides his wives, he was preceded in death by one daughter and his parents. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Lunning Chapel in Burlington, where family will receive friends. The funeral for Mr. Watson will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Lunning Chapel. Burial with military rites will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington. A memorial has been established.
