Johnnie Mae Watson, 67, of 102 S. Central, Burlington Medical Center. Born Sept. 1, 1927, in Helena, Ark., she was the daughter of Samuel Taylor Sr. and Gertrude Scott Taylor. She married Coolege Britton. He died May 22, 1990. Mrs. Watson was a housewife. She was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include two sons, Nathaniel Watson Jr. of Burlington, and Jimmy Lee Watson of Grady, Ark.; nine daughters, Viola Watson, Gail Brown, Angie Patterson, Catherine Johnson, Samella Robinson, Kattie Bradford and Lorene Davis, all of Burlington, Gertrude Perkins of West Burlington, and Patricia Watson of Flint, Mich.; 36 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren; one brother, Samuel Taylor Jr. of Burlington; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Prugh's Chapel. The funeral for Mrs. Watson will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Prugh's Chapel with the Rev. Freddie Starling officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established for the American Cancer Socierty.
