Obituary

Thorn "Curley" watnem, 87, of 1910 Douglas died at 6:10 p.m. Sunday, April 17, 1988, at the Morning Sun Manor Nursing Home, Born Aug. 25, 1900, at Odson, he was the son of Peter and Milia Watnem. He married Nellie Hunter Oct. 24, 1965 at Keokuk. He worked at the Iowa Ammunition Plant and was manager of the Lincolnville Service Station. He was a Lutheran. Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Georgia Masulli, Glendale, Calif., and Pricilla McClung, Burlingtonl two step-daughters, Mrs. Kay Lyon, Hayford, England, and Mrs. Joyce Dickson, West Palm Beach, Fla.; one stepson, Jim Darrah, Palm Beach, Fla.; three sisters, Vivian Nessen, West Bend, Frances Keith, Fort Dodge, and Lola Faulk, Humboldt; one brother, Percy Watnem, Ottawa; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Lunning Chapel. The service for Mr. Watnem will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Lunning Chapel with the Rev. Bergstrom officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
