Charles L. “Jack” Blodgett, 80, formerly of 1131 Hagemann Ave., Burlington, died at 4:54 am on Wednesday, April 6, 1994, at Burlington Medical Center's Klein unit.
Born June 26, 1913, in Illinois, he was the son of William and Inez Gwin Blodgett. He married Helen Stigge on Nov. 1, 1934. She died May 22, 1954. He later married Esther Tieman Hellwig on Nove. 6, 1954. She died Sept. 3, 1991.
Mr. Blodgett was a truck driver for Burlington Northern Truck lines before he retired. He was a member of the First United Church of Christ.
Survivors include two sons, Stephen Blodgett of Burlington and Dale Blodgett or Johnston; three daughters, Betty Schreiner of Burlington, Joanne Lower of Monticello, Ind., and Linda Hingst of Iowa City; a half-sister, Carol Lohrum of Fenton, Mo.; nine grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 pm Friday at Prugh’s Chapel.
The funeral for Mr. Blodgett will be 10:30 am Saturday at Prugh’s Chapel, with the Rev. Pamela Webb officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for Burlington Medical Center’s Klein Unit.
