Services for Charles (Clifford) Watkins, 87, Mediapolis rural, formerly of Denmark, who died Oct. 1, 1985, will be held at the Lunning Chapel at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, the Rev. B. Lawrence Sweeney officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established. Mr. Watkins was born Jan. 28, 1898 at New London, to Charles and Emma Bangs Watkins. He married Madge Babcook March 18, 1938, at Kahoka, Mo. He had been a farmer and a Santa Fe Railroad employee. He was a member of Oak Street Baptist Church and the Farm Bureau. Surviving: His wife; a son, Raymond (Ed), Silver Spring, Md.; a daughter, Janet Haus, Racine, Wis.; four sisters, Florence Bates, Oklahoma City, Okla., Mary Anderson, Mt. Pleasant, Reika Houston, Denmark, and Tracia Watkins, Burlington, and four grandchildren.
