Carol Kay Warth, 62, of Burlington died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2007, at her home. Born Sept. 10, 1944, in Burlington, she was the daughter of James Raymond and Lela Maude Kimbrough Helmick. On Jan. 9, 1965, she married Melvin S. Warth in Danville. He died April 25, 2002. Mrs. Warth worked at Park Manor Nursing Home, Iowa Army Ammunition Plant, Midwest Biscuit Co., Lehigh Leopold for 17 years and Burlington Basket Co. for nine years. She was a 1962 graduate of Burlington High School. She attended Bethany Lutheran Church. She was a member of Women of the Moose Chapter 587 in Burlington, where she served as chairman and several officer positions for many years. She was chosen by Mooseheart to be deputy grand regent for the state of Iowa and eastern Nebraska in 1997 to 1998. She collected bears and loved to play bingo. Survivors include one daughter, Tina L. Gibson of Burlington; one son, Walter R. Warth of Burlington; one stepdaughter, Brenda L. Howell of Pekin, IL.; one stepson, Mel L. Warth of Burlington; three grandchildren; 10 stepgrandchildren; six stepgreat-grandchildren; four sisters, Mary Hammond of Wapello, Lela Tull of Burlington, Helen Riley of West Burlington and Patricia Boney of Ector, Texas; four brothers, James Helmick and Tom Helmick, both of Burlington, John Helmick of Sherman, Texas, and Jack Helmick of Washington; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and two brothers. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Limning Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Women of the Moose Rites will be conducted at 6 p.m. The funeral for Mrs. Warth will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Lunning Chapel with the Rev. Carl Engstrom officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established for Great River Hospice.
