Dorothea Elizabeth Marie Warth, 88, of Burlington, died at 11:30 p.m. Monday, March 17, 2008, at Blair House in Burlington. Born June 2, 1919, in Davenport, she was the daughter of William Frederick and Hazel Elizabeth Jaeger Schwerin. On June 17, 1950, she married Marvin F. Warth in Burlington. He died June 10, 1999. Mrs. Warth was a homemaker and 1938 graduate of Burlington High School. She was affiliated with Bethany Lutheran Church. She was an Iowa basketball fan and enjoyed quilting, crocheting and jigsaw puzzles. She also enjoyed cooking and canning produce from her family garden. Survivors include one son, Dennis Eugene Warth of Ames; one daughter, Donna Lee Kartel of Phoenix, Ariz.; three grandchildren; and one sister, Bonnie Wolf of Sanford, Fla. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister. No formal visitation is planned. Friends may call at Prugh's Chapel in Burlington from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday. The funeral for Mrs. Warth will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Prugh's Chapel, with the Rev. Carl Engstrom officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington. A memorial has been established for Bethany Luthern Church.
