Marvin F. Warth, 82, of Burlington, died at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, June 10, 1999, at Burlington Medical Center. Born April 28, 1917, in Burlington, he was the son of William C. and Emma M. Schupick Warth. On June 17, 1950, he married Dorothea E. Schwerin in Burlington. Mr. Warth was a meter reader for Iowa Southern Utilities for 47 years before retiring. He was a World War II Army veteran. He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church and the American Legion. Survivors include his wife; one son, Dennis Warth of Ames; one daughter, Donna Kartel of Phoenix; three grandchildren; two brothers, Bill Warth of Davenport and Harry Warth of Sylvan Grove, Kan.; one sister, Louise Chrissinger of Clearwater, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one sister. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday in Prugh's Chapel. Friends may call after 3 p.m. today. The funeral for Mr. Warth will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Bethany Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Carl Engstrom officiating. burial with full military honors by VFW Posts 10102 and 9162 will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established for Bethany Lutheran Church.
