Private Rodney L. Bliss, 19, of Fort Riley, Kan., formerly of Burlington, died Tuesday, Sept. 30, at Burlington Medical Center.
Born Jan. 16, 1967, in Burlington he was the son of Ronald L. and Carolyn K. Corman Bliss.
He had attended Burlington High School. He was a private first class with the Army, stationed at Ft. Riley, Kan.
Surviving are his parents; grandparents, Clarence Bliss, Florida, and Ruth Bliss and Maxine Corman, both of Burlington; two sisters, Theresa Bliss, Burlington, and Teri Carey, Arvada, Colo.; and a great-aunt, Alta Dalton, Burlington.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening at their home, 1830 Dehn.
Services for Pvt. Bliss will be 10 am Friday at Lunning Chapel with the Rev. Norman Wenig officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
A memorial has been established.
