Dolores Ruth Walter, 84, of Burlington, died at Great River Health Systems on Tuesday afternoon, August 28 2012. Born on October 31, 1927, in Burlington, Iowa, she was the daughter of Benilius (Ben) and Ruth Luthy Werner. She married Clarence Pepmeyer in 1946, in Burlington, Iowa, upon his return from the service. They later divorced. She then married Hugh Walter in 1990 in Burlington, Iowa. He died on July 20, 1992. Dolores was a bookkeeper. She enjoyed gardening, flower gardening and playing the piano. She especially enjoyed the company of her grandchildren and activities with her pets. She was of the Protestant faith. She is survived by one son, Ron Pepmeyer, of Burlington, Iowa; one daughter, Diana Lynn Needham of Macomb, Illinois; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, paarents, one daughter, and one brother. Graveside ash committal services for Dolores Ruth Walter, 84, of Burlington, will be held in Aspen Grove Cemetery on Friday, September 7, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Dean Moberg will officiate.
