Marjorie L. Wallingford, 74, of 1701 Whittier St., Burlington, died at 7:55 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 19, 1995, at Burlington Medical Center. Born Jan. 11, 1921, in Des Moines County, she was the daughter of August and Alice Hippe Zeller. On April 1, 1950, she married Vernon Hasten. He died in 1953. She later married Donald R. Wallingford on May 12, 1972. Mrs. Wallingford was a 1938 graduate of Burlington High School. She had been acting vice president of Valley Savings Bank on Roosevelt Avenue. She was a member of St. Luke's United Church of Christ, the Hen's Quilting Club of the church, King;s Daughters and the Ruth Circle. She was very active with Gleaners and had been a sixth-grade Sunday school teacher for 20 years. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Thomas Dale Hasten of Mount Pleasant and Jeffrey Lynn Hasten of Burlington; a daughter, Alice Joyce Phenicie of Burlington; two step-sons, Donald R. Wallingford Jr. of Farmington and Dale Wallingford of Stockton; two stepdaughter, Doris Dickey of New London and Dorothy Brickey of Mount Pleasant; a sister, Frances Kuntz of Burlington; 16 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Friends may call after 9 a.m. Wednesday at Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The funeral for Mrs. Wallingford will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Luke's United Church of Christ with the Rev. Mel Miller officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established to St. Luke's Church.
