Velva Waller, 71, of Gladstone, Ill., died Monday, Feb. 15, 1988, at the Burlington Care Center. Born Feb. 24, 1916, in New London, she was the daughter of Charles and Gladys Branch Hester. She married Herman Wellington Aug. 31, 1935. He died Nov. 19, 1973. She then married Virgil Waller Sept. 17, 1976. He died Dec. 20, 1984. She was a homemaker and a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and the Ladies Auxiliary No. 2449. Surviving are three sons, Don Weillington, Fayetteville, N.C., Lloyd Wellington, Gladstone, Ill., and Randy White, Burlington; one daughter, Debbie Ball, Morning Sun; three brothers, John Hester, Ernest Hester and Floyd Hester, all of Burlington; two sisters, Sylvia Wagoner, Belgrado, Mont., and Darlene Krogmeier, Burllington; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Lunning Chapel. The service for Mrs. Waller will be 1 p.m. Friday at Lunning Chapel with the Rev. David Bergstrom officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established for the American Heart Association.
