Warren A. Walker, 61, of 518 Hedge St., died at 1:10 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 3, 1993, at Burlington Medical Center. Born Dec. 17, 1931, in Burlington, he was the son of George E. and Martha A. Mehaffy Walker. He married Marcille A. Lucas on Oct. 18, 1974. Mr. Walker was an Army veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars, retiring from the Army in 1973 with 21 years of service. He then was a parking attendant at Burlington High School for two years. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, the American Legion and Eagles Aerie No. 150 and was a member and life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10102. With the VFW, he was a past commander and quartermaster, past district commander, state poppy chairman and adjunct and club manager. Survivors include his wife; five daughters, Judy Werner of Tennessee, Lynn Lillie and Marlene Gates, both of Mediapolis, Angela McAndrew of Edmond, Okla., and Martha Rhinehart of Wayland, Mo.; two stepsons, Larry Krieger of Mediapolis and Don Krieger of Ottumwa; a stepdaughter, Ellen Campbell of Mount Pleasant; two brothers Delmer Walker and Leaford Walker, both of Burlington; four sisters, Leveta Burch, Frances Davis and Zelma Van Etten, all of Burlington, and Ruth Ashby of Santa Monica, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren and a step great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, two brothers, a sister, and two stepgrandchildren. Friends may call after 8 a.m. Tuesday with the family receiving friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Lunning Chapel. The funereal for Mr. Walker will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Lunning Chapel with Dean Moberg officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery with military rites conducted by VFW Post 10102. A memorial has been established for Burlington Medical Center.
