Louise Walker McKnight, 81, of Burlington, died at 11:20 a.m. Thursday, March 4, 1999, at Burlington Medical Center. Born Jan. 29, 1918, in Burlington, she was the daughter of George and Martha Boers Frudeger. on Sept. 25, 1938, she married Robert B. Walker. He died Jan. 5, 1982. She then married Harold W. McKnight on Oct. 23, 1982, in Burlington. He died Dec. 14, 1992.Mrs. Mcknight was a 1935 graduate of Burlington High School and 1937 graduate of Burlington Junior College. She worked as a librarian for Burlington Public Library, a secretary for Des Moines County Tuberculosis Association, and a teacher of adult basic education at Southeastern Community College. She was a member of Homebuilders Sunday School Class, PEO, and United Methodist Women. Survivors include one daughter, Sandra Waggoner of Fort Madison; two sons, David Walker of Burlington and Robert G. Walker of McLean, Va.; one stepdaughter, Julie McKeown of Golden, Colo.; two stepsons, Lee W. McKnight of Aurora, Ill.; five grandchildren; three great-grand-children; four step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; and one sister Ruth Walker of Burlington. Besides both husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and one brother. Visitation will be after 9 a.m. Sunday in Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The funeral for Mrs. McKnight will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Lunning Chapel, with the Rev. Dennis Tevis officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery, Burlington. A memorial has been established to First United Methodist Church, Burlington.
