Loretta Christine Walker, 87, of Burlington, died at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 8, 2003, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington. Born March 27, 1915, in West Burlington, she was the daughter of Fingle P. and Hanna Maude Bloom Bloomberg. On Oct. 14, 1935, she married Leo E. Walker, in Burlington. He died June 5, 1986.Mrs. Walker was a homemaker. She was a member of West Avenue Baptist Church and enjoyed flowers, pets and playing cars. Survivors include one daughter, Susan Carter of Burlington, two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two brothers-in-law. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one son and one sister. Visitation will begin after noon today at Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The funeral for Mrs. Walker will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at West Avenue Baptist Church, with the Rev. Kirk Bennett officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established for West Avenue Baptist Church.
