Mildred S. Walker, 79, of 615 Court St., died 11:48 p.m. Tuesday, Sept.6, 1988, at her home. Born April 23, 1909, in Columbus Junction, she was the daughter of Harry and Vinnie E. Sargent Mishler. She married Edward D. Walker Dec. 17, 1930, in Columbus Junction. He died Dec. 3, 1980. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the First United Church of Christ, the church's women's circle, the Heritage Hill Association, the Art Guild and the Des Moines County Historical Society. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Mary Sue (Roger) Garner, Albuquerque, N.M. and Mrs. Jeanine Ann (Les) Hazlett, Scottsdale, Ariz.; one brother, Herbert Mishler, LaMesa, Calif.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren, Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Prugh's Chapel. The service for Mrs. Walker will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Prugh's Chapel with the Rev. Robert Dodder officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established for the Heritage Hill Association.
