Carl I. Walker, 79 of 1807 Mt. Pleasant died at 4;15 a.m. Thursday, April 6, at Burlington Medical Center. He was born Dec. 5, 1898 at Tama, the son of William B. and Birdie Mae Walker. He married Ruth L. Taeger on April 7, 1926 in Des Moines county.. He was a retired sheet metal worker at Klein Mfg. Co. and a farmer. Surviving: The wife; two daughters, Mrs. Adolph (Beverly) Gerst, Rt. 2, and Mrs. David (Barbara) Kester, Burlington; seven grandchildren; brother, Lloyd, Burlington. Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Monday, Prugh's Chapel, Rev. David Stabenfeldt; Aspen Grove cemetery. A memorial has been established at First Untied Church.
