Joseph P. Waldorf, 64, 2400 Flint Hills Drive, died at 6;34 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, at Burlington Medical Center. Born April 15, 1923, in Burlington, the son of Morris P. and Hazel Mae Waldorf, he was married to Phyllis Baird. Mr. Waldorf worked for the U.S. Post Office in Burlington until he retired in 1973. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Waldorf was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Annette Waldorf of Burlington; three sons, David Waldorf of Burlington, John Waldorf of Broomfield, Colo., and Steve Waldorf of South Dakota; two brothers, Robert Waldorf of Wever and Jerry Waldorf of Ontario, Canada; and three grand-children. A wake service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday in Prugh's Chapel. The family will receive friends between 7:30 and 8:30 p.m. Funeral service for Mr. Waldorf will be conducted in St. John's Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Albert Hauser officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established for Waldorf.
