Lorraine Margot Walden, 71, of the Danville Care Center and formerly of Burlington, died at 10:05 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, 2008, at Great River Hospice House in West Burlington. Born January 16, 1937, in Aurora, Ill., she was the daughter of Lawrence Harold and Anna W. Hult Walden. Miss Walden was a cashier at the Palace Theater from 1958 until 1968. She was a 1955 graduate of Burlington High School. She was a member of Riverside Baptist Church, Des Moines County Historical Society, Des Moines County Genealogical Society, a former member of the Burlington Art Guild, Friends of the Depot and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She enjoyed strawberries and cherries, collecting miniatures and bells and crocheting. Survivors include one sister, Eleanor A. Walden of Burlington. She was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be from 8 to 10 a.m. Friday at Hass-Thielen Funeral Home in Burlington, where the family will receive friends from 9 to 10 a.m. The funeral for Miss Walden will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Chapel of the Hass-Thielen Funeral Home, with the Rev. Charles W. Stevens officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established.
