Richard I. Wagner, 46, of 534 Ramsey, West Burlington, died at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, in Memorial hospital, Mt. Pleasant. Mt. Pleasant police said the doctor who attended Wagner said he suffered a massive heart attack. Wagner was stricken at 12:04 p.m. Friday as he was driving west on US34 in Mt. Pleasant. Authorities said the car knocked over a sign in from of Bentler's 66 Station, and went through a drive at Mr. Pleasant TV & Stereo before coming to rest against a tree. Wagner was taken to the hospital by ambulance. Richard I. Wagner was born Mar. 25, 1928, at Grimes, Ia., the son of William J. and Frances Long Wagner, Dec. 4, 1954, at West Burlington he married Dorothy Burke. Mr. Wagner, an employe of the Burlington Railroad, was a member of St. Mary Catholic church, West Burlington, Railway Veterans, Long Creek Conservation Club and Sheet Metal Workers union. He served with the army during the Korean conflict. Surviving: The wife; four daughters, Debora, Dora, Denise and Darla, all at home; his mother, Burlington; two brothers, Kenneth and Bernard, both of West Burlington. Funeral: 9 a.m. Monday, St. Mary Catholic church; Aspen Grove cemetery with military rites, Rosary; 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Lunning Chapel.
