Paul C. Zaiser, 85, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, August 20, 2012 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo. He was born November 30, 1926 in Burlington, Iowa, son of Ralph and Vida Brodersen Zaiser. He married Barbara L. Snyder on June 11, 1950 in Burlington, Iowa at First Methodist Church. Mr. Zaiser graduated from Burlington High School in 1944 and from Burlington Jr. College in 1950. He served in the United States Army during WWII and Korea. He was employed for eight years as Drafting Supervisor with Amana Refrigeration and then with Waterloo Industries for 30 years, retiring as Manager of Engineering Services. Survived by: his wife, Barbara; one son, Dennis (Susan) of The Woodlands, TX; one daughter, Nancy (Robert) Wegand of Iowa City; five grandchildren: Justin (Shelley) Zaiser, Jarrad (Amanda) Zaiser, Jordan (Kaitlin) Zaiser, Matthew (Jamie) Jackson, Melissa (Mike) Bird; and six great-grandchildren: Schuyler Zaiser, Hayden Zaiser, Zach Zaiser, Cortlynn Jackson, Carlie Jackson and Rory Bird. Preceded in death by: a brother, Mark R. Zaiser. Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Richardson Funeral Service in Cedar Falls. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and also for one hour prior to services Friday. Memorials may be directed to the Cedar Falls Municipal Band or Cedar Valley Hospice.
