Alma Wagner, 94, of New London, formerly of West Burlington, died at 11;25 p.m. Friday, July 4, 2003, at the New London Nursing and Rehab Center. Born May 13, 1909, in Benton, she was the daughter of Emmett Earl and Ada Fay Marshall West. On April 27, 1941, she married Bert Wagner in Kahoka, Mo. He died Jan. 17, 1989. Mrs. Wagner worked for eight years at IAAP, mainly as an inspector. She worked for Southeast Iowa Home Health Care from 1965 to 1985. She graduated from Benton HIgh School in 1927. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, the Southeast Iowa Saddle Club and the Traveling Tiger Camping Club. Survivors include three grand-daughters, Sherry Pitkowicz and Patty Hallead, both of Michigan; Connie Daniels of Des Moines; two grandsons, Harold "Buzz" Wagner of Burlington and Randy Wagner of Mount Pleasant, 13 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two daughters, one step-son, one son-in-law and one grandson. Visitation will begin after 8 a.m. Monday at Lunning Chapel where the family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service at 1:30 p.m. The funeral for Mrs. Wagner will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. in Lunning Chapel with the Rev. Matt Miller officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established for the New London Nursing and Rehab Center.
